Safari #6 & #7 3/1/2022 & 3/2/2022

Before I begin, I just want to say it took me 5 FRICKING TRIES TO UPLOAD THE PICTURES. It takes like an hour minimum to download them, they would go in the wrong way, or they would just never showed up. So this will probably be the only update until Thursday or later because we don't have good wifi here.

Also this update has two days in it, because the first one was VERY short, so I combined two. And there is a little bit of sex ed 😈.

3/1/2022

Small baby elephant! It's so cuteee

Baby zebra, also -cookies are done, I'll be back- very cute :)

We leaving this area and flying to another. This is the plane coming in, it's a small one to match a small airport. The airport has a gravel runway and like 3 really small buildings. Also it was REALLY hot.

It's so small!

3/2/2022
We got up early to hopefully see more predators, and we saw this lioness hunting a warthog. The warthog ended up being spooked by a truck, and ran away way faster then I would have expected.

Our first cheetah! These are Wesley's 2nd favorite animal.

I thought I uploaded more pics of it, guess I didn't. Oops.

This small deer is a dik dik (I think that's how you spell it). Despite its size its very territorial.

Giraffe

The 3 Brothers! Texhnically they were the 5 Brothers then 2 died somehow 😔

I got a video of them crossing the river, eventually I'll post it.

I think this is the Eland, I use the chart I posted on the 2/26/2022 blog. When they get old the bones in their legs rub together creating a clacking noise you hear when they walk.

Mongeese! I know that's not technically what they are called, but the plural of goose is geese, so it makes sense and it just sounds better.

I love these guys way too much ❤❤❤

At the place we ate staying, there is a map center piece in the parking lot. It's hard to see with a picture sadly.

Baby hippo footprints. Are they called feet?

This poor girl got left behind accidentally by her herd, leaving her with the old generals. Help her

I forgot the name of this bird, but it's actually a small bird, it just makes an unnecessarily big nest.

I didn't know termite mounds got that big.

More impala, you see a lot of these

Hippos!

Pretty flower :)

More hippos

The bushes are so low compared to him lol, just find a tree

I love baby elephants

Wow look! This elephant has a fifth leg! Jk ðŸĪŠ

ELEPHANT SEX ED TIME
A male elephant's penis is 6 feet on average, and its prehensile, meaning it can move on its own, which just makes sense. Good for sex and swatting flies.

Babyyyy

I wonder how this one lost its tusk?

This just makes me happy for no reason

Its so smalll

Spotted this monitor lizard, I couldn't get my camera out in time to catch it on a rock, but it's fine.

It's in the shadows if you can't find it.

There is a guy called chief at the lodge, and every night he gives a presentation on things. Each night is a different presentation. It's pretty cool. Tonight's was either the great migration, or the big 5. While we were listening I saw some lizards hunting the flies gathered around the lamps.

If you a want to learn about the big 5, a quick internet search will do it, and I don't remember which ones they ate, there are a lot of big animals here. The great migration is a good hunting season (obviously 🙄). The wildebeest and the zebra travel large distances trying to go somewhere idk where. They cross rivers a lot because the grass looks better on the other side I guess. One wildebeest fell down a cliff thing and broke both it's front legs. It was somehow able to cross the river but couldn't make it much farther. It had to lay there waiting to get eaten buy hyenas. It'd dangerous for the animals to cross rivers because of crocodiles. Once a couple of zebras crossed the river, but weren't able to climb the riverbank. Crocodiles surrounded them. None survived. Crocodiles hunt by latching into their prey on a leg, neck, or another body part and hold on until the prey has tired itself out. Then the crocodile drags it under the water, until it drowns. Crocodiles also don't just take a bite eand eat their meal. The grab a part of it, twist until it comes off, and swallows it. Just don't cross rivers on foot in Africa. Use a car. Dang that was long 😅

Our desserts. They are so pretty ❤️
