Wow! Lucky you, a double upload??? Crazy!
On a (pretty sure it was long, like 5 hours but I don't know) drive to our new camp, it's a glancing camp. Saw some camels so yeah.
Also saw more baboons. We tend to see them on almost all our drives.
No clue what these are lol, not the best photo, oops. In my defense I was in a moving car, and all the roads are BUMPY, I tried to draw once, but it's impossible.
Male impala. There is only one adult male per herd, the rest live in bachelor herds. While in the bachelor herds, they eat well, getting stronger and preparing for taking over a herd. The male in charge of the herd with females doesn't eat as well because he is paranoid of getting threatened by a bachelor, making him weak. Each male is only in charge for a couple weeks before he is overpowered.
Our first rhino! There is a watering hole right outside camp, so we got to see a lot of animals which was cool.
I love their horns!
We went to a chimp (I don't know I'm kinda really forgetful and dumb :P edit: just checked with mom I was right) sanctuary, it was lame. Even parents thought so. This was the only one we could see, I think his name started with a 'p' like Pablo or something.
Saw some wild baboons, the fence doesn't seem to do much... these were more interesting then the chimp.
OMG OUR FIRST LION!!!
The lion was eying these cape buffalo.
A bit after this photo it looked like the lioness ripped off a chunk of an animal, I think the head, and carried it away.. There were two, apparently I didn't take a picture of the other? But they crossed right in front of our jeep and muzzled and it was the cutest thing I have ever seen. (Side note: eventually, when I'm not as lazy I will take my videos and upload them to YouTube, then edit posts and paste the links here at the end, I took a video of them nuzzling btw)
Found the male, sleeping the day away while the females do all the work.
Mom likes the warthogs
Gazelle
A 'Retired General'. Old (I think over 20) male cape buffalo break of from their herds in small groups, I think to help keep the herd safe. And I feel like I know more information on them but I can't think of anything so...
Hello again! This time we encountered a national geographic team preparing to film it! Pretty cool
The impala just chill in the camp
