A longer post, we went to a castle thing had something to do with crusaders, we were told a lot about them (I wasn't listening as usual) search it up idk. It was never conquered, so that's pretty cool ig. Then we went to this church thing overlooking the promised land. Then me mom and dad took a cooking class and we ate it for dinner. It was a long day.
This was used to crush olives I think. They lost half somehow. How do you lose this big heavy stone??? Idk they sandwiched olives between it and boom, crushed olives. I'm so smart.
Idk what this is tbh, but imma sit here until I remember or get bored and move on. I remembered! If you look carefully you might see shells. Forgot why. Kind of a letdown honestly.
These were bedrooms I think. Very glamorous, a lot of head room.
The windows are like this because its a narrow opening, and the shape brings more light in. You can also see how insanely thick the walls are. Cannonballs barely did anything
They used round stones sometimes. Who knows why
Forgot what this was, very deep though.
These used to be grave things, now they are used to store animals like cows.
I forgot who they did this to, but they would put someone's head in a iron? Cube, and toss them off this tower. They did this so they will survive the fall and be in agony until they eventually die. They were lovely people 😊
Pretty sure this is toilet.
A well I think. Very deep.
The kitchen
These were used for grapes instead I think.
Or maybe not, because people would step on grapes in here to get the juice out
And it would flow through these channels into a thing we couldn't see.
People brought this brick in somewhat recently ish, our guide could tell a lot about it because of small details.
This leads to a secret passageway, sadly we couldn't go in because they were filled in.
The dead sea! Wait I just realized WE ARENT DONE WITH THE CASTLE AND THIS IS IN THE WRONG SPOT BC ITS BEING STUPID
anyway, here are some cool windows
A cannonball, we all held it. Kyla got a little grumpy/sassy to dad about it.
NOW we are at the dead sea, more waves than I thought. Huh
They gave you mud to put on bc why not, and mom went all out. I put it on my legs and arms BECAUSE IM A NORMAL HUMAN BEING not really, but I don't fancy getting mud out of my hair. The dead sea was pretty disappointing tbh. It was too wavey to try floating, and rocks landed on feet a lot, at least it wasnt cold, it was actually warmer then the air. Also DONT DRI MNK DEAD SEA WATER if you have a spoons worth of the water, get to a hospital ASAP. It's incredibly salty, and has acids and sulfur in it.
Pretty flowers :)
This massive stone was used to protect the church or something. They covered the opening with it. I don't know how the monks did it, they were practically starved, they got a bit of bread and salt every day, and I don't remember if they had restrictions on water. However if guests came, they could have lentils too. What a great life 😃
Pretty :)
don't know if you can read it, don't know if it's even worth reading.
The promised land! This is what Moses saw. Apparently this mountain/hill we are on, is where he died.
I don't think you can read this but idc
No smoking, talking, guns, phones, pants or shirts aloud in the church.
Pretty much all the photos of this are mosaics. I broke the rules heheheh 😈
Why do fires happen in churches so much?
The mosaics have different levels.
This was the best preserved one.
The little lights are apparently light shining off tops of churches
Flower :)
There was this really friendly puppy there :)
Awww <3
Swan towels. Idk thought it was cool
Again, like no pictures of the cooking class, idk why. Just *poof*. Anyway I'm scooping out eggplant stuff from the skin.
Added some stuff and mashed it up, it's very hard to do so with a big masher and a small bowl, especially with the curve that bowls have.
Making a chip dip think idk
More eggplant, they like eggplant.
The side dishes done
Recipes, I edited them a bit, didn't take a pic though, oops. I will add my note document of the main dish one. Hopefully it'll make sense.
The main dish! You flip it, so pretty cool. it was actually pretty good, I liked it, the chicken was very tender.
The recipe, for the spices, take a kids spoon and fill it up 1/2 - 2/3 full. Also the chicken bouillon is too taste. I definitely recommend this recipe.
